My favorite storybook, Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox, was published in 1984--the year I was born. My copy of this, I got in a local book sale--a place I always love to visit and to spend hours and hours in. It is a story of a boy who was trying to find out what a memory was. The old people in the care home next door each gave him an answer--one said it was something warm, another said it was something from long ago; one said a memory was something that makes you laugh, but another said it was something that makes you cry; and still someone said it was something as precious as gold. It was sweet to see what the little boy thought memories were.
